Art Festivals

Minneapolis is home to a thriving arts community. At no time is this more evident than during the large-scale art events that occur here. The Northeast Minneapolis Arts District hosts an annual Art-a-Whirl in May of each year, where hundreds of artists open their studios to collectors. Seward and Lowertown neighborhood artists host similar events. Minneapolis is also home to an August Fringe Festival of live stage performances that has gained international recognition.
